Fortune Teller: Everyone has a story Girl. Do you even know the story about Girl, Girl? Girl: People say that my mind has mutated. Fortune Teller. Mhh, they say that? You know what they mean when they say your mind’s been mutated right? Mutare – means to change. You know, a lot of people don’t like change cause it’s really painful. So many stories that don’t wanna be told again. Oh, that reminds me, i met your mother. Yea, and she had a dream about you before you were born. Girl: A dream? Fortune Teller: Yes Girl a dream. In 1994. You were surrounded by this red sand, yea and there was a snake and it was was speaking to you. That’s it Girl, I had to meet you, there is something that I need. A long time ago there were these dangerous people that, for some reason, were trying to change the logic of time, luckily they failed, but these same dangerous people were trying to conceal the knowledge of the serpent. Wait, we don’t have much time: here, take this. Yes Girl, you have one of the pieces of the knowledge of the serpent and you have to remember what the snake said to you. ssshhhh.

1. 1994, you getting depressed, its not the first time. This child bringing back the feelings of your first days. Harmed when you were just a baby, it’s been 12410 days for you to get crazy. Boon and bane it represents the future, this child; your hope, your great adventure. 2. 1994, back in your home town. Your friends are resignated, you’ve been away too long. You wanna be strong, but depression occupies your brain you cant do anything, day and night, laying in your bed, what will the future bring? Voices in your head blame your behaviour, call you a failure. This child, can it really be your saviour? 3. 1994, who was there for you? They sayin, you should be thankful, their forgiveness should be payed for. They saying: its a free land, free to fight, free to kill and free to exploit. But if you aint got money, they saying, you can’t decide. The upper middle class prefers to keep buiseness quiet. All these circumstances make you afraid and you drown.

Mutant: the monster is one who lives in transition, i am the monster Girl: what are you doing there? Mutant: i dont want to forget Girl: forget what? Mutant: the strategies of normalization Girl: the Mysterious Lady without Name told me that normality doesn’t exist, have you heard of mutation? Mutant: mutation is the art of imagination, the knowledge of the serpent, the art of change, the art of mind, the art of becoming the monster. did you remember what the snake told you? Girl: yes, i saw the snake. there was a voice singing: debris of my vision, wretched of the screen porn and paranoia deep within one small death after the other television invading the skin everyone an object everyone a pimp rape fantasy, flesh dystopy porn attributes, money anarchy no sanity, sadist atrophy sex guarantee, orgiastic hegemony a split divides body and mind i am schizo i am a schizo-body

Haiqing: Girl was looking for love and freedom because she has seen resentment and disdain. as the life of Girl’s mother MOW was marked by breakdowns, Girl learned to operate under the mode of destruction. Girl thinks that her mind has mutated because she has been told this story all her life. but what if Girl's imagination was the key to another dimension and the suspicious mutation was just a misunderstanding of our very mundane perception? anyways. the question will be whether Girl can fight an army of ships with a hand full of sand?

about

Experimental multimedia artist, musician, and producer L Twills is set to release her multimedia double album [After Her Destruction] on 16th February 2024 via Misitunes.

[After Her Destruction] is not merely an album; blending multimedia art and pop-underground, L Twills presents a multi-faceted Gesamtkunstwerk with her sophomore release. Consisting of 22 musical pieces and 11 video chapters, the 'cybernetic sci-fi opera' is a multimedia mammoth, merging video art, music, performance and storytelling. In her exploration of voice and sound, breakbeat, soundtrack and avant-pop merge with sonic pioneering. L Twills cites Ryuichi Sakamoto, Portishead, Meredith Monk, Laurie Anderson, Roberta Flack's album "First Take" and the vocals of Diamanda Galas as her main influences for [After her Destruction]. The result: a rich, intimate and at the same time peculiar musical world, that invites you to listen more than just once.

The story‘s protagonist is Girl, and with the help of computer program The Art of Mind, Girl moves through the matrix of her own perception to find out whether her mind has mutated. In this amalgamation of mind and programme, dubbed the Apparatus, Girl learns not only that ‚matrix‘ translates to womb (lat. mater), or that normality doesn‘t exist, but also how memories merge with illusions of love and freedom and reconfigure as dreams. Through interactions with various characters and animals, such as the Mysterious Lady Without Name, an Albino Boa, the Fortune Teller, a Mutant, a dancing Superego and her manic mother MOW, Girl searches for an understanding of identity and a way to exist in a dystopian society marked by social inequalities, stigmas, class differences, racism, and misogyny. What is otherwise considered irrational may in [After Her Destruction] lead to unknown territories of imagination; a way of staying with the trouble.
